A calming, simplistic tune absolutely brimming with emotion from this London artist. Released towards the end of last year on Tom’s second EP ‘Paint The Ceiling Blue’, ‘Take It All’ combines raw vocals with an instrumental that is surprisingly empowering despite its simplicities. As it builds up to the chorus, there is still an air of uncertainty as to where this song is actually going: will it go into a catchy, pumped-up indie rock tune, or will it lax into a pure instrumental? And the answer is neither of those two really – although the backing track remains steady, the vocals reach a climax, in a subtle yet decisive fashion. ‘Take It All’ has gained Tom some considerable recognition since its release a few months ago, and if you enjoy it you should definitely check out the rest of collection; especially the Jamie T-like ‘Voicemail’ and guitar-heavy ‘Bad Advice’.
