BAND OF THE WEEK – FROTH

Dreamy, psychedelic-rock band out of Los Angeles. Since forming in 2012, they’ve released a couple of short albums – ‘Patterns’ and ‘Bleak’ – both of which are mesmerising compilations of hazey, often garage-tinged indie rock: and make for a perfect summer soundtrack. ‘Lost My Mind’ from their debut still holds its place as their most popular track, and it’s not hard to see why, with its sprightly melodic patterns and psych-guitar whirring together in such a fun, dazzling way – imagine being at a fairground whilst high, and that’s the kinda vibe you get from this song. ‘Oaxaca’ offers a more calming, folk-spirited feel, and the idealistic, heavily 60s-influenced ‘Afternoon’ (from their latest album) is becoming a staple listen in the upcoming indie scene. On the same lines as Temples, POND and Work Drugs.
