Indie/rock electronic duo, whose offbeat, triumphant new single ‘Maps’ will easily ensure their success as musicians. The easiness with which the two seem to have crafted this song contrasts with its relatively intricate arrangement of abstract instruments, samples and hazy vocals, indicating that OYLS’ music is not something to be underestimated – and nor are they. The single kicks off a procession of releases from the band this year, immediately followed up by the incredibly euphoric ’10th Song’ – sounding similar to Coldplay in places. OYLS have already been compared to a number of artists, including alt-J, Daft Punk and James Blake, and the complexity of their resultant sound isn’t something you should miss out on hearing this summer.
