Revision Soundtrack #3 – Röyksopp

My ultimate go-to music for studying for years. Their debut album ‘Melody AM’ may now be 16 years old, but that doesn’t mean it’s any less sensational or inspiring. Wonderful music not just for revision, but for life also – you can never tire of this Norwegian duo’s warm, spacey, downbeat electronica.

Nordic duo, whose odd indie-pop has been creating ripples of interest across the internet over the last year, after the couple of single releases they’ve made. They released their very first song ‘C.A.t.L.Y. (Can’t Afford to Lose You)’ 4 years ago, and despite its quirky, off-balance jigsaw of melodies and vocals, little notice was taken of it. That is, until the pair finally released a follow-up single last year, called ‘Keep Your Tongue’. With a slow yet intricate approach to indie-electro, the song seems fairly standard at first, but really does build up to something special – with the help of euphoric instrumentals and alt guitar. BLØSH didn’t stop there, bringing out third single ‘Give It Away’ in November; another refreshing, unique take on the indie-pop genre, and with vocals that seem somewhat lazy and glorious simultaneously. A marriage of the honky-tonk oddities of tUnE-yArDs with the twinkly pop of Cults!
